Brooklyn, New York (PRWEB) June 21, 2013

Brooklyn, NY Friday, June 21, 2013 Campus Mercante (http://www.campusmercante.com), will hold a Website Launch Celebration on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 419 Avenue P Brooklyn, NY 11223 from 5:00-9:00 PM the company announced today.

Campus Mercante was founded less than a year ago by Brooklyn natives, Shlomo Weintroub, Neil Kuperhand, and Arvin Jassir. It has quickly become a destination point for all-things Urban Culture from fashion to street art, to music and of course, to skating. The store opening was marked by a successful collaboration of a group of street artists and thought-leaders who came together to honor late rapper MCA of the legendary Beastie Boys with a wall mural that was featured in such publications as Complex, XXL, Gothamist and Fuse.

The launch of their website, which was created on the Wix.com HTML5 platform, is seen as a stepping stone to increased sales, exposure and growth. The celebration will include Live Dj’s, live art demos, a custom Skateboard charity auction, food & drink, giveaways and demonstrations.

“We started Campus Mercante because we love the Art, Music, Fashion, Literature and life on the streets of Brooklyn, said Neil Co-founder of Campus Mercante, native Brooklynite and longtime owner of Cutmasters barbershop directly across the street. Our new Wix website allows us to share our passions and community with others around the world who, on their own streets, have unique yet similar experiences. We now have customers making the trip out from New York City because theyve checked us out online first. Weve reached new customers in California, Nevada, Virginia, Texas and Ohio, seen visitors from all over the world and sold our products online to customers in the UK, Australia and Greece. And were just getting started.

The sharing of ideas, passions, and culture is at the root of Campus Mercante’s values, as explained by the owners in their discussion of the names origin. Campus Mercante serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas, similar to that of a college campus. The word campus also evokes images of collectiveness and familiarity. Mercante is homage to the merchants of old who delivered and distributed these valuable ideas and goods around the world. This multicultural exchange occurs to this day on every city street. The Brooklyn streets were our campus; from here we were exposed to the world.

“Neil, Shlomo and Arvin epitomize the sort of long-term community involvement and creativity we see from hundreds of thousands of small business owners around the world who leverage our tools to design, publish and host their websites, said Eric Mason US Director of Communications at Wix. We got involved in this celebratory event because entrepreneurs like them aren’t just building and expanding their business, theyre enriching their local community too.

Charity Auction of Custom Designed Skateboards:

Wix.com, the HTML5 web publishing platform used to build the Campus Mercante website, has donated four custom designed skateboards in honor of the Campus Mercante site launch. An auction will be held for each of the boards during the event with all proceeds going to benefit NYC Arts Cypher (http://www.nycartscypher.com). An online auction will also be held.

In addition to the auction a number of the custom boards will be raffled off throughout the celebration.

Skate Event:

As part of the celebration Campus Mercante will also be holding a Skate Event for kid and adults from 3:00-5:00pm, June 27th, 2013 at Colonel David Marcus playground. The event will feature skate demos, trick contest, board giveaways, sticker giveaways and more.
